Vietnam: Heat @ Wolf Creek July 19th
Tactical Diversions Productions (sometimes we just call him Ferg) and Wolf Creek Paintball in Star, NC presents Vietnam: Heat on Saturday July 19th. Based on Operation: Cedar Falls in January 1967, when the U.S. and South Vietnamese forces attempted to root out Viet Cong base camps in the Iron Triangle. “The operation involved nearly 16,000 American and 14,000 South Vietnamese troops. The Viet Cong chose not to fight and melted away into a complex system of tunnels in the jungle. In response, tunnel rats were introduced to root them out. This was the first time they were used.” Read more
Mil-Sim Invitational Moves to Fulda Gap!
The Platoon Leader Mil-Sim Invitational at Command Decisions Warfames Center in Taylorsville, NC has changed the date from August 2nd to November 7th to kick off the Fulda Gap scenario. The Mil-Sim Invitational will be combined with Fulda Gap to allow out of state teams to be able to travel and attend both events.
Another reason for the move is the summer heat in North Carolina. Randy Brown from Wolf Creek, commonly “the Top Sergeant” at the Mil-Sim events and a field medic, said that at a scenario last August, they had as many as 10 players succumb to the heat. With gas prices as high as they are now, teams were having to pick which event they were going to budget for. As Ferg says, “Now they don’t have to choose OR bake.” Read more
No commentsPlay a Little Catch Up!
Yeah, yeah, I know the blog has an archive, search functions and even categories of articles, but we are getting a bunch of new subscribers and I wanted to feature some of the highlights of the past six months to make it easier for the newbies to find the good stuff. Besides, I’ve met some of these guys and they have a hard time finding their way out of their camo, let alone navigate a highly technical piece of editorial software such as this! So let the summer re-runs begin! Read more
G.I. Joe vs. Cobra
Black River Paintball is hosting Valor vs. Venom August 16th (Well, at least we THINK that’s the date) at their Fayetteville “Freedom Field“ Anyway, this scenario looks to be one of the most unusual I’ve ever heard of. For your $45 entry fee, you get your field fee, air, raffle entry, AND an urban or woodland jerseyand pants AND the winning army gets a free paintball marker. Let me repeat that: Every player on the winning side gets a free marker!
Definitely not something you see every day!

2 commentsBring the Heat pt.2
In the first part of this a couple of days ago, we were telling you the joys and thrills of playing and practicing paintball in 100 plus degree temperatures. It’s not for the weak. It’s not necessarily for the overly-bright either. Below are more recommendations on how to not only thrive playing in the heat, but to live to brag about it later.
NC Tactical Paintball is Closed!
The Clemmons, NC (near Winston-Salem) paintball field is closed permanently. I was updating our field links and went to NC Tactical’s web site and saw the following notice:
“Something fell through with the new ownership and we have no other choice. We would like to say thanks to all that supported the field and thanks for all the fun, See everyone at the next big game. Chad and Willy will no longer have anything to do with running the field, website or have any responsibilities or liabilities for the paintball field. We will leave the forum and website up for now. See you at the next big game.”
Almost all of the links are disconnected so that directions and almost everything else doesn’t work on the site. I tried to call Willy for more information, but he was not in at the time. Besides our condolences to NC Tactical, this is equally sad for scenario players in the Carolinas as this is one more great field we won’t be able to play and enjoy our favorite sport. Good luck to Willy and his crew in whatever they do in the future. Email us at paul@tangoalpha2.com if you have any more information or leave a comment below.

Have you tried the latest weight loss fad? It works great! Wear a camouflaged BDU, strap on 25 lbs of tactical vest, air tank, paintball pods, and a protective mask that seals your eyes and face in a plastic enclosure that doesn’t breathe. Wear heavy army boots with extra socks for foot protection. Put a protective cap or bandanna on the surface of your body that traps the most heat. Don’t forget the sweat trapping knee and elbow pads. Carry 4 lbs of marker (that’s the weight before you add the scope, stock, hopper full of paint, and extended barrel) in a ready-fire position on your shoulder for 8 hours.
Now, do this in the 100 degree heat of a sunny, sauna-like Carolina day. Send your check to the Tango Alpha2 Weight Loss Center and watch for our Valerie Bertinelli commercial coming soon!

2 commentsGear with a ‘tude!
Shane Jenkins, of the Carolina Sabers, has opened up Scenario Scene Paintball, an online apparel store for woodsball enthusiasts. However… this is not your usual woodsball camo gear. These are tees and hoodies with custom artwork designed spefically for the scenario players. Categories include The Monday After, Position Titles, Scenario Shout Outs, and more. This is some genuinely funny stuff. Each item carries that little bit of attitude that all paintball players have. Maybe it comes from carrying around semi-automatic guns. Maybe we’re just defective.
Anyway, check out his store at http://www.cafepress.com/sspaintball and tell them you heard it from TangoAlpha2.com! We don’t make any money, but it makes us feel good people are talking about us without using words like “dirtbags” and “nancy-boys”!
