Team:Tango Alpha2 launches!
TangoAlpha2.com, this news blog, is proud to present its new permanent, scenario paintball Non-Team, “Team:Tango Alpha 2“. A “non-team” because Team:Tango Alpha2 doesn’t bring the some of the same baggage that other teams do, such as ego, reputation or taking themselves so seriously. The team’s primary weapon is NOT paintball markers, but a sense of humor. We may not be to outshoot you, but we can definitely outlaugh you. Our goal is to not to win, or lose, a given a battle, but to have the most fun. Granted, winning is a helluva lot more fun, and we always we give it our best shot, but to paraphrase paintball writer Jason “foolybear” Lineberger, “Six months from now no one will remember who won or lost, but they will remember the craziest or who had the most fun.” This is the premise of Team:Tango Alpha. Have Fun. Our goal is to not only shoot you, but do it while we are laughing WITH you.. or AT you (the choice is yours).
Profile: Team Boxer
Some paintball teams seem like military organizations and some seem like extended families. I’ve run across the team that seems like both. If you’ve been to any major scenarios in the Carolinas in the past few years, you have more than more likely seen the banner of a bulldog on the shield. Welcome to Team Boxer. I interviewed their captain, Wendell “Runaway” McInnis, and one of their senior officers, Kent “X-Man”Jones, recently to find out what makes this such a popular and outstanding team.

2 commentsTrapping!
Good tactics are not always about running to the line of fire as quickly as possible. Sometimes the best tactic is to run away. Not because you are afraid of who’s coming at you, but because you want to eliminate them. A weekend not too long ago, Eric “Mad Loki” and myself walked into a classic trap that consisted of the other team running away. Click read more for the details…
Winged Man!
This will be short, but due to lack of coordination, intelligence and knowing where to put my feet, I took a flying header at X-treme Tactical today. Thought it was just a sprain but a dozen x-rays later, it turns out I picked up a hairline fracture right on the ball of my right shoulder along with soft tissue trauma from the impact. Picture 260 lbs of camo, paintball gear, SP8 and geriactric wannabe sailing through the air to land on the palm of your right hand while holding a marker. Crater. Pain. Thanks to Camo Ken, fellow player Chris Webb, and X-treme Tactical for taking care of me at the field.
The docs said I need to be immobile for 6-8 weeks, but they don’t know how much I enjoy paintball. I say 4 weeks tops. Better living through pharmaceuticals. I will be serving in a coaching capacity next Saturday at Gold Diggers (Boss) Paintball when Team: Tango takes to the field. I figure this the only way I can save on paint. Right now, I can’t move my arm at all. I am trying to figure out to shoot lefty… and walk at the same time.
Operation Burning Sky - June 21-22 Boss Paintball
The sequel to to the January scenario, Operation: Shining Shield, Operation: Burning Sky (at Boss Paintball in Locust, NC June 21-22) takes today’s headlines and projects them into a World War III scenario in the year 2019. The Middle Eastern Axis (Iran, Korea and Russia) face off against the Allied Forces of China, The European Union and the U.S.) The storyline takes up where Shining Shield left off and the world is at the brink of war. The game will begin at noon on June 21 and play for 26 hours on and off until Sunday, June 22nd. Click Read More for details…
Good Morning Viet Nam!
The day started of like any good paintball scenario, we got up at O-Dawn thirty! What’s the “O” stand for? “Oh my gawd! Is this a meat grinder or WHAT!” Viet Nam Patrol 2008: The Siege of Khe Sahn was one of the better scenario events I have attended in the last year, but contrary to popular theories in physics, you CAN have hills that go up BOTH ways! Command Decisions Wargames Center in Taylorsville, is one of the best fields I have played at, but it is not for the weak of heart… or leg… or lung! But if you were looking for plenty of paintball action on April 26th, and weren’t afraid of a teeny tiny little cardio infarction, then this was the place to be! Click Read More for the details…
