Cheap Hints & Tips to Improve Your Game

August 06th, 2008 | Category: One Shots, Tactics & Strategy

Any magazine can tell you how to spend the big bucks on the latest marker, but here at TangoAlpha2.com, we show you how to get the most out of your paintball experience and game with minimal expenditures. Okay, maybe that’s because we CAN’T afford the big buck markers, don’t have deep-pocketed corporate sponsors and are a bunch of miserly tightwads, but all that aside, we’re not bad people! Read more

Shameless Self Promotion and A Good Stroking

August 02nd, 2008 | Category: One Shots

Lee-Ann This came in from Lee-Ann Ferguson [of Command Decisions Wargame Center/ ScenarioSupply.com/ Tactical Diversions and whatever other enterprise they have going] and was too cute and shamefully self promoting not put up on the blog. Lee-Ann (and oh yeah, Ferg) puts on some great games, loves to  play and is a real sweetheart (Lee-Ann, not necessarily Ferg!)

“Oh dear lord Paul - I just finished reading your article in PB2X on Khe Sahn. I seriously needed that laugh! What a fantastic job and we appreciate it SOOOO much.  Thank you for putting the time and effort into writing that.  I’m not sure if the field being now known as “meat grinder hills” will draw or detract but I don’t care, that was just so much fun to read. Against Recon1: A Moron’s Story

July 07th, 2008 | Category: One Shots

The Redneck RangersMy squad had the three man sniper team pinned down in the gully we had backed them into. I was laying down a world of fire on them, targeting their heads in my scope and talking trash about their manhood. I capped one almost simultaneously as “Bones” popped up right behind them, shot my target and yelled “Surrender” to his partner. They both sat with their hands up as my squad encircled them as prisoners. The first blood was ours, but the third sniper had rabbited! Read more

Play a Little Catch Up!

June 19th, 2008 | Category: One Shots

Turtle & Camo @ Boss PaintballYeah, yeah, I know the blog has an archive, search functions and even categories of articles, but we are getting a bunch of new subscribers and I wanted to feature some of the highlights of the past six months to make it easier for the newbies to find the good stuff. Besides, I’ve met some of these guys and they have a hard time finding their way out of their camo, let alone navigate a highly technical piece of editorial software such as this! So let the summer re-runs begin! Read more

Bring the Heat pt.2

June 12th, 2008 | Category: One Shots, Tactics & Strategy

Camo-Turtle_Boss Paintball In the first part of this a couple of days ago, we were telling you the joys and thrills of playing and practicing paintball in 100 plus degree temperatures. It’s not for the weak. It’s not necessarily for the overly-bright either. Below are more recommendations on how to not only thrive playing in the heat, but to live to brag about it later.

Bringing the Heat pt.1

June 09th, 2008 | Category: One Shots, Tactics & Strategy

Team Tango headed in Have you tried the latest weight loss fad? It works great! Wear a camouflaged BDU, strap on 25 lbs of tactical vest, air tank, paintball pods, and a protective mask that seals your eyes and face in a plastic enclosure that doesn’t breathe. Wear heavy army boots with extra socks for foot protection. Put a protective cap or bandanna on the surface of your body that traps the most heat. Don’t forget the sweat trapping knee and elbow pads. Carry 4 lbs of marker (that’s the weight before you add the scope, stock, hopper full of paint, and extended barrel) in a ready-fire position on your shoulder for 8 hours.

Now, do this in the 100 degree heat of a sunny, sauna-like Carolina day.  Send your check to the Tango Alpha2 Weight Loss Center and watch for our Valerie Bertinelli commercial coming soon!

Gear with a ‘tude!

June 07th, 2008 | Category: One Shots

SS SupplyShane Jenkins, of the Carolina Sabers, has opened up Scenario Scene Paintball, an online apparel store for woodsball enthusiasts. However… this is not your usual woodsball camo gear. These are tees and hoodies with custom artwork designed spefically for the scenario players. Categories include The Monday After, Position Titles, Scenario Shout Outs, and more. This is some genuinely funny stuff. Each item carries that little bit of attitude that all paintball players have. Maybe it comes from carrying around semi-automatic guns. Maybe we’re just defective.

a Monday After designAnyway, check out his store at http://www.cafepress.com/sspaintball and tell them you heard it from TangoAlpha2.com! We don’t make any money, but it makes us feel good people are talking about us without using words like “dirtbags” and “nancy-boys”!

Team:Tango Alpha2 launches!

May 26th, 2008 | Category: One Shots

team-photo1 TangoAlpha2.com, this news blog, is proud to present its new permanent, scenario paintball Non-Team, “Team:Tango Alpha 2“. A “non-team” because Team:Tango Alpha2 doesn’t bring the some of the same baggage that other teams do, such as ego, reputation or taking themselves so seriously. The team’s primary weapon is NOT paintball markers, but a sense of humor. We may not be to outshoot you, but we can definitely outlaugh you. Our goal is to not to win, or lose, a given a battle, but to have the most fun.  Granted, winning is a helluva lot more fun, and we always we give it our best shot, but to paraphrase paintball writer Jason “foolybear” Lineberger, “Six months from now no one will remember who won or lost, but they will remember the craziest or who had the most fun.” This is the premise of Team:Tango Alpha. Have Fun. Our goal is to not only shoot you, but do it while we are laughing WITH you.. or AT you (the choice is yours).

Profile: Team Boxer

May 23rd, 2008 | Category: One Shots, Reviews

Boxer_logoSome paintball teams seem like military organizations and some seem like extended families. I’ve run across the team that seems like both. If you’ve been to any major scenarios in the Carolinas in the past few years, you have more than more likely seen the banner of a bulldog on the shield. Welcome to Team Boxer. I interviewed their captain, Wendell “Runaway” McInnis, and one of their senior officers, Kent “X-Man”Jones, recently to find out what makes this such a popular and outstanding team.
