Paris Hilton Move Over!

June 09th, 2009 | Category: One Shots

officers_meeting-01I won’t be doing any private videos like she does, but the next big Media Star is Born! In other words, the team and I got into print a couple times! Woo hoo! The big news for us is the 4 page article Jason “Foolybear” Lineberger wrote in his Officer’s Meeting column for Paintballx3.com. Check out pages 98-101 for a real good laugh! Do you remember those Trollkin dolls? Picture a fat blond one in camo!

It was great article by Foolybear and I’m sure he is expecting his publicity check anyday now. I look at these photos and think “If the Pillsbury Doughboy and Ric “The Nature Boy” Flair had a baby….?”

How far does YOUR gun shoot?

May 25th, 2009 | Category: One Shots

Waaay over there!By Professor “Pappy” Furr
Well, for some of you the answer may be surprising. For those of you who did not sleep through physics class, the answer is really very simple: It shoots just as far as the other guy’s. What, you say? I know you paid hundreds for that 2010 Super Paintenator X-17, but the truth is that the kid with the $69.95 Spyder from Wal-Mart has just as much range. If two guns are both chronographed at 280 FPS, they will both shoot the same distance. Before you head for the nearest 5th story ledge to jump, there are some advantages to the more expensive high-tech guns, but shooting distance is not one of them. First things first. Let’s clear up the distance issue once and for all. Read more

CDWC’s Forum has moved!

April 03rd, 2009 | Category: One Shots

MilSim Empire It’s amazing how much we come to depend on technology and how much you miss it when it’s gone. Command Decision’s Forum has been down for a bit and they have decided to move it to Mil-Sim Empire’s site. To get there, aim your browser at: http://www.milsimempire.com/viewforum.php?f=145  I would suggest bookmarking it.

Happy Birthday to blog: Tango Alpha2!

February 06th, 2009 | Category: One Shots

Digging for new stories!

This scenario paintball blog celebrates its first year of providing news, strategies, game announcements, field directions and reviews to the southeast. We have made a bunch of new friends (very few people actually throw fruit at us anymore!) and occasionally we write something accurately. But on the plus side, almost all of the major teams and fields in the Carolinas subscribe to the blog, and more importantly, new players to the sport are showing up to learn more about where they can play and what is happening. And for your reading pleasure…

December 26th, 2008 | Category: One Shots

January-Paintball.com-articles-angledYour own Wingman has a few new articles out in the national magazines this month, two in Paintball.com magazine (formerly PB2X). One article, “General Mayhem“, revolves around my experiences this summer as general of the Vietnam Heat game at Wolf Creek and some pointers for future event commanders. The other article (”Big Game“) is a joint venture with Jason “foolybear” Lineberger as a tongue-in-check, point/counterpoint style debate about the G.I. Joe vs. Cobra scenario at Black River. Both are fairly humorous (in a Tom & Jerry cartoon sort of way) and writing them is my financial alternative to selling my blood down at the blood bank to raise money. You can catch them both (as well as some stuff by other guys) in the January issue of Paintball.com magazine, now in news stands.

Team Tango Parties!

December 23rd, 2008 | Category: One Shots

paul-caricatureOne of the many benefits to being on a team are the social aspects of it. Team Tango Alpha is really a Party Team that just happens to play paintball, as we found out on December 13th. Metheney Consulting threw its annual Christmas get together and combined it with the Team Tango Alpha Christmas party to make for a monster bash! The party was for full team members and their significant others and included a caricature artist, a whacked out gift exchange, a poker game (Turtle hustled us!) and more food and drinks than we (even Reklis) could handle! Anybody who says there isn’t any benefit to being on a team never got a slingshot monkey as a gag gift!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Team: Tango Alpha 2009 Schedule

December 19th, 2008 | Category: Events, One Shots

Team Tango Alpha Dagger Force at Fulda GapWe have been getting requests to know what events Team: Tango Alpha2 is scheduling for 2009. Not so much that people want to run with us, or are afraid of us, but more want to know where they can go to get a good laugh! We are nothing if not fun to watch (in an 18 Stooges kind of way!) So the squad leaders and I sat down, and over the course of many, many beers came up with the following tentative schedule based on what we know now (from what the fields have sent us). This may change as we learn more about different events (or as we sober up), but for now we have the first half of the year pretty well mapped out. If you or your team are interested in joining us for an event or practice, let us know. Read more

So You’ve Always Wanted Your Own Paintball Field?

December 11th, 2008 | Category: One Shots, Paintball Fields

redfoxchartIn a recent interview, Vaughn Smith announced to Tango Alpha2 that he was selling Red Fox Games (www.redfoxgames.com) near Greenville, SC. I have played at this field and it is a very cool place to  play paintball.

“I am rapidly approaching 70 and for the last 20 years PB has been my life and I want nothing more than to see the sport continue and grow. I have made so many friends over 20 years and I am now seeing the sons and daughtors of people who played here in the 90’s,” said Vaughn. “There always comes a time when we all will have to give it up and that time is almost here for me. I have resolved that 2009 will be my last year and if a buyer or lessor cannot be found then RFG will just have to close.”

So if you ever wanted your paintball field, now is the time to check it out! Attached are some data about the fields attendance, inventory etc. you may find interesting. Read more
