Black River Paintball is hosting Valor vs. Venom August 16th (Well, at least we THINK that’s the date) at their Fayetteville “Freedom Field“  Anyway, this scenario looks to be one of the most unusual I’ve ever heard of. For your $45 entry fee, you get your field fee, air, raffle entry,  AND an urban or woodland jerseyand pants AND the winning army gets a free paintball marker. Let me repeat that: Every player on the winning side gets a free marker!

Paintball Marketing Takes A Twist!

 I’ve been in marketing for 25 years and I can’t figure out how you can do all that for $45. If there are 200 players on the Cobra side and they win, they each get a new marker! Maybe a manufacturer is donating the markers and jerseys. Maybe Santa left them by mistake. Maybe they fell off the back of a truck. Frankly, I don’t care how they do it. It’s great deal for scneario paintballers no matter how you look at it and sounds like a blast. From the web site (see the details below) it sound s like you only get the free jersey and pants if your preregister by July 26th.

Who’s On First? 

I say there was some confusion about the date because Jason foolybear announced the event in his Strictly Scneario Blog as Aug 16th, but the web site was showing Aug. 2nd (which was bad, because  that is the day of my high school reunion and Mrs. I’m-On-The-Committee has already laid down the law about us going.) I let foolybear know and he confirmed the date over the phone with the owners. The web site now has the new date and it seems the event is set for the 16th.

The Details 

Entry Fee:
PRE-REGISTRATION: $45  (includes: TEAM SPECIFIC CAMO JERSEY AND PANTS, ID tag, all-day-air, raffle ticket for prize drawing, playtime)  Cut off for early registration is July 26th at 9:00pm EST.
DAY OF EVENT REGISTRATION: $45 (includes: ID tag, all-day-air, playtime) 

Check-in will begin at 7am on Saturday, Aug 16.  Player debrief will commence at 9AM and the battle will begin at 10AM. This is an unlimited firing mode event with a capped rate of fire of 15pbs.  Field speed limit is 285fps.  Free camping the night before and after the event. 

 Paint:  Paint prices start at $45/2000 round case and go up to $65/case.  This is a FIELD PAINT ONLY EVENT.

Awards & Ceremony:  As always, Black River will provide fantastic event prizes.  In addition, EVERYONE on the winning team will receive a free paintball marker.  You read right- EVERYONE ON THE WINNING TEAM WILL RECEIVE A FREE PAINTBALL MARKER at the end of the event.  You must be present to claim your marker.
