Are You Ready

On Nov. 8th, a little over a week from now, Fulda Gap, the “Superbowl of Paintball in the Carolinas” will be held at Command Decisions Wargames Center in Taylorsville, NC. If you haven’t pre-registered, STOP READING! Go directly to Scenario Supply and register this minute! Registration is expected to cap out soon and some units are completely full. Finish reading this later. Register now!

I met with Ferg, from Command Decisions, and Kent “X-Man” Jones (Team Boxer), general of the Warsaw Pact side, this past Sunday and the event looks to be bigger and better than ever.

Some items of interest…

  • The 8th Guards (Warsaw Army) are having a Ready To Rumble Raffle to get their army ready to rock BEFORE the opening remarks by Ferg. On Saturday, November 8, be present at the 8th Guards HQ (Rear) at 8:30 AM ready to go and particpate in the READY TO RUMBLE Raffle. The idea is to get as many troops ready to be on the field as quickly as possible. Warsaw members must be 1.) checked in and have your player id. 2.) You must have chronographed your paintball marker. 3.) HPA or CO2 tanks filled. 4.) Paint pods filled. 5.) Obtain a raffle ticket from your unit commander. Prizes are over $150 plus! So get ready early comrades! You can find more details at http://www.8thguardscaa.com/Readiness%20Raffel.html
  • Fulda (Alpha Base) seems to have had a face lift by the Nato boys. Looking good! I would hate to be the one who has to attack it. (Oh yeah, I am!)
  • Dead Zone 1 has been moved slightly southwest of its old location, more towards Bridge 6.
  • There will be a second Air Refill station for CO2 and 3000 HPA. It will located at the entrance of the field by the vendors trailers.
  • Rule infractions can cost 300 points! Be sure to study your Fulda Gap Rules! X-man has posted some of the most important rules on his web site. I recommend that your review these as well.
  • Some Dead Zones are not active until certain objectives are met!
  • Chemical weapons must be approved by your general. Know your rules!!! It would be terrible to lose on a technicality!
  • Point Phases are at 1pm, 5pm and 11pm on Saturday and 2pm on Sunday.

And your update as of last night, October 30 is that all NATO 3rd mechanized units are full and closed, along with Warsaw pacts 120th guards!

We are well on our way to the cap - unit selection is limited but still available. We won’t turn anyone away for this game but we do have to keep the game objectives fair so if you wait too late, you may have limited choice on even which side you get to play on (but you still get to play paintball…which is really the part that rocks).

CHECK OUT OUR SPONSORS. Holy moly!!! They keep adding on but our prize packages this year will be insane. We will hold two raffles so we don’t keep you an extra day just doing door prizes!

We are so eager for the event - can’t wait to see each and everyone of our players. Remember to download and print off your waivers if you have not played at the field since March of 2008. When it doubt, fill it out…bring it with you and keep your time in line to a minimum!
