Welcome to Paintball: Tango Alpha2 (short for T.A.T.A. or Teamwork And Tactical Assault), where the motto is Aggression, Strategy and Stealth (or A.S.S.). Are you starting to get the drift here?  This site is an experiment in blogging dedicated to paintball. Woodsball or scenario paintball, to be more specific. Experimental because I don’t know how much time I am going to have to dedicate to updating the site. It started out as a place to put pictures of paintball games. It will inevitably end up in a law suit.

Seriously, Folks…

You can probably tell from the acronyms, that this is about having fun. Some people take this (and life) a tad too seriously. Paintball is supposed to be about having fun. I play more than most, have spent too much time and waaaay too much money on it, but at the end of the day it is just entertainment. It is NOT life and death. It is NOT the most important thing in the world. Real soldiers risk their lives and die defending our country, way of life or just following orders. I PLAY soldier on the weekend. Huge difference. A buddy wanted to name a team after a real world division in the military and I argued against it because those guys die everyday for us and for a bunch of out of shape wannabes who have never spent a day in the military, to be using their name to play shoot ‘em up on the weekends seemed kind of disrespectful. And you really don’t want to piss off guys that carry around REAL M-4 rifles with REAL bullets. I don’t care how much you spent on that fancy speedball gun. Full metal jacket trumps gell-cased, vegetable oil-based paint every time. Hell, they could kill us just making us do push-ups!

What it be…

What you find here are pictures of some of our latest paintball adventures, links to various paintball educational resources I found helpful, places to buy scenario equipment and apparel, directions to various local fields and occasionally humorous, always highly opinionated, generally self-involved, and fabricated pearls of wisdom. You know, just like FOX news.

Content

The content will have two specific audiences in mind, scenario paintballers in the Carolinas (mostly Charlotte area) and genearl paintball information such as tactics, articles, web site links etc. that may (or may not) appeal to anyone.

Semi-permanent Pages or Current Posts - The site will have some semi-permanent content on it like directions to local paintball fields, links for resources, training and educational stuff. The Current Posts wil be more opinion, reviews, comments, articles, interaction and will be archived and searchable.

Interaction

You are welcome to discuss, disagree, add content and compliment, by signing in and posting comments. I can’t guarantee everything will get up here in it’s original form. I am going to moderate the comments and posts to reduce the flames and generally keep the intelligence level somewhere between being able to spell your own name and Letters to Penthouse Forum. Spelling and intelligently formed and stated opinions count heavily in favor of getting your comment up here. Calling someone a wienie, not so much. Hey, this is my blog, go make your own if you don’t like it.

Sending me photos etc…

You can email me photos, documents, and attachments to my email address at paulm@metheney.com. I can then give you directions on where to send me free equipment, cash or checks. I am also not above accepting free airline tickets, travelers checks or money orders. I have no idea why you would want to send those, but it can’t hurt to cover my bases.

Apologies up front

Ths is the disclaimer where I apologize for every name, fact, spelling, and detail I may or may not get correct, people I irritate and toes I step on. I am terrible at names, don’t care what other people think about me, and paid for thsi out of my own pocket. I am also going to apologize for the TV show “The View”, the last episode of the Sopranos and traffic on I-485 at rush hour. I didn’t have anything to do with any of those, but I thought some should apologize.
