For years, the Thornhill community in Ballantyne has been having its children terrified. This October 31st starting at nightfall, The Haunted Garage of Death at 10622 Back Ridge Rd in Charlotte, will open its doors once again to release the nightmares within… completely free to all trick or treaters.

From industrial style fog machines to power saw wielding zombies, the Metheney family, friends (and members of Team Tango Alpha2) host a one night haunted stop for South Charlotte children of all ages.

“It keeps getting larger each year.” says Paul Metheney. “It started as just a few of us in makeup as scharacters, but then we converted our 3 car garage into a small maze that the kids must traverse to get their candy at the end. Most are so scared that they run right past the candy bowl to escape. The parents enjoy it as much as the kids. The best compliment we ever had was a teenage girl screaming at us as she vaulted over a moving 6’ spider to escape, “YOU PEOPLE ARE A BUNCH OF FREAKS!”

“Last year, we had over to 350 kids go in and at least 347 come out. We did find enough pieces to make up the last three.”

The terror begins at approximately 7pm (or as soon as it gets dark) and will run until about 11pm.

Bring your little (or not so little) victims for some Halloween terror and candy starting at dark on Saturday, October 31st.

Take 485 to Rea Rd, go south. Turn right on Ballantyne Commons, right on Elm, left on Elmstone. In Thornhill, take Elmstone one mile  away from the theater and then turn right on Back Ridge  and the terror begins almost at the end of the road.

Side effects may include:  dizziness, dryness of mouth, nausea, diabetes, tremors, heart palpitations and temporary loss of bladder control. Not for women who are pregnant or nursing. Kevin Shimwell along with his team at Adventure Beach Paintball and Airsoft have converted the field’s famous Tippmann Town and surrounding acreage into a twisted terror-inducing land of zombies, goblins and worse.

Running from 7 – 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 7-midnight on Friday and Saturday and 7 – 10 p.m. on Sunday, a staff of approximately 30 ghouls and ghosts will take visitors on a twisted walk through the lakeside netherworld. Read more

Evil Ain’t All Bad!

As the Commander for the Demon Army, I, Outcast, would consider it an complete honor if all of you would consider fighting for me and all that is good and pleasurable about this world. The Angels are attempting to “cleanse” the earth, meaning they want to take away all the fun. In the name of Lucifer, as well as, Jack Daniels, Benjamins, Afternoon naps, Punching your neighbor for checking out your wife, Checking out your neighbor’s wife, Young college girls named Candy trying to pay for college, and Wanting to look good for the ladies (The seven deadly sins- gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy, lust, and pride). If we allow them to achieve their goals all of these things, essential to a happy man or woman, will disappear. They say Lucifer and the demons are evil and amoral with nothing but the suffering of man in our intentions. But, do those “sins” sound like suffering to you? They don’t to me! The Angels want you to live strict regimented lives, full of sacrifice, under the FEAR of God’s wrath. Lucifer asks for nothing, except for your company to a party that lasts an eternity!

So who will you fight for?! The uptight, virgin Angels? Or the friendly, fun-loving Demons?

The battle to protect our pleasurable way of life takes place on Oct. 24 at Black River.

Angels Don’t Fear to Tread Anywhere!

As General for the Angels Team I would like to send message out to all. If you believe in fighting for good, if you believe in doing what is right, then I ask you to fight for the Angels. Two years ago we rid the lands of the demons and now they are back once more to try and spread their evil ways. They will try and get you to fight for them by offering you power, greed, lust and other sinful things. But as long as we resist their tempations and fight back we will win. Once again I ask that you fight against evil, fight for what is right and help rid the lands of the demons once and for all.

I will be facing them on the field on Oct. 24th, now who will stand with me?
